Rev. Dr. James C. Karboi Sr. founded WASSAP.inc with a profound calling: that lasting peace and human dignity are not abstract ideals — they are the foundational pillars upon which resilient communities are built. With over three decades of experience spanning counseling psychology, conflict transformation, theological education, and community leadership across Liberia, Dr. Karboi has established WASSAP.inc as a trusted voice for healing, reconciliation, and social justice in post-conflict Liberia.
Before founding WASSAP.inc, Dr. Karboi served in numerous leadership capacities that shaped his holistic approach to human development. As National Sunday School Director and later National Board Member for the United Pentecostal Church of Liberia, he oversaw church operations across multiple counties, trained hundreds of pastors and teachers, and spearheaded church planting and renovation projects. His tenure as President of Maranatha Bible Institute saw him shape the next generation of Liberian religious and community leaders, while his work as a War Trauma Counselor during Liberia's civil war gave him firsthand experience in addressing the deep psychological wounds of conflict.
Dr. Karboi holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Arts in Peace Study from the Kofi Annan Institute for Conflict Transformation at the University of Liberia, and a Master of Theology from Cypress Bible College in Texas, USA. His unique blend of academic rigor, pastoral compassion, and grassroots experience makes him one of Liberia's most respected advocates for mental health, peacebuilding, and human rights.
